I mean no disrespect but I have to be honest here.
I have come to deeply resent the way Black people are constantly pulled into everything. I resent the arrogance of others outright demanding we sacrifice ourselves time, and time, and time again. When we speak for ourselves “it's too much and too loud”. When we defend others “it's not enough”. We cannot be, exist, or enjoy a thing, without it becoming a big think piece or political thing. No matter the situation, from Ukraine, to COVID, police killings in other communities, voting, standing in line for a bloody sandwich, to even this situation, it devolves to blanket statements about Black people not doing enough, too much, or getting thrown under the bus. Intersectionality and allyship isn't blind, unquestioning obedience. If anyone wants to truly believe there are no Black people or groups helping/supporting Jewish Americans, that's a choice. Personally, I don't have to support the indiscriminate bombing of Palestinians to prove I care about the victims of Oct 8th.
